The reverse depicts the iconic tale told by Sailor Ishmael as Ahab commands The Pequod through a raging sea in a battle to the death against the White Whale - Moby Dick himself. Enraged by Ahab's harpoons, the White Whale emerges from the dark waters to unleash the full fury of his wrath - and this time, the beast will take more than Ahab's leg with him down to the depths of the abyss.


Reminiscent of the Jolly Roger, the obverse depicts a skull centered over a ship's wheel, with the wheel set over a tattered sail. Below lies the inscription "2 OZ FINE SILVER .999". Encircling the top of the skull is the inscription, "No Prey, No Pay"- a pirate term reminding the crew they would receive no pay unless a raid was successful at looting booty.
