Buy Sealed Boxes of 2020 San Francisco American Silver Eagles Online

The Silver Eagle Monster Box contains 25 tubes of silver eagles with 20 coins in each tube. These monster boxes will be sealed by the US Mint San Francisco Branch as well, guaranteeing these coins will be in absolute mint condition.

The US Mint seals these green monster boxes with their own straps both horizontally and vertically to ensure these boxes stay sealed. The coins inside the boxes are minted using one troy ounce .999 silver blanks provided by the Sunshine Mint. The blanks are then transferred to a U.S. Mint location beautifully struck with the iconic Silver Eagle design, and inspected by US Mint employees before shipment.

***Please note that 2020(S) Silver Eagles do not display a mintmark on the reverse. Instead, they can be definitively identified as 2020(S) Silver Eagles due to the box’s serial number.

In 2020, the United States Mint encountered logistical issues due to COVID-19. In fact, during the early spring, the West Point Mint was forced to shut down entirely. This closure resulted in a complete stoppage of all bullion minting operations, including American Silver Eagle production. In response to these unprecedented challenges, the Mint tasked its branch facilities with striking Silver Eagles.

First, in April, the Philadelphia Mint issued an emergency production run of less than 500,000 Silver Eagles. While these coins were made to satisfy intense bullion demand, they quickly became popular collector items. Sealed 2020(P) boxes are trading for enormous premiums compared to their normal West Mint brethren – and MS70 specimens are commanding an even higher price!

Then, more recently, the U.S. Mint disclosed that its San Francisco facility would produce another 1,000,000 Silver Eagles. Given the massive demand for 2020(P) Silver Eagles, the 2020(S) coins will surely attract tremendous attention as well. It’s considered unusual any time a branch mint strikes bullion Silver Eagles. However, considering this year’s extraordinary events, the 2020(S) Silver Eagles could take on special collector significance.
