2021 1 oz Loop the Loop Proof Silver Coin

On this coin called 'Loop the Loop', named after a dual-tracked steel roller coaster that ran from 1901 to 1910 on Coney Island in Brooklyn, New York, this adventure and test of bravery is wonderfully portrayed. One of the first looping roller coasters in North America was that ride. Of other new looping coasters, it is the precursor. Because it minimized whiplash, it was considered groundbreaking at the time. Given the safer form, since it was still very basic, people were still freaked out by Loop the Loop. These were the days before the introduction of under-track protection systems to stop the falling of passenger cars off the tracks. The commuter cars on Loop the Loop had real tires and the only thing keeping them on the track was a narrow side railing.

The obverse and reverse of this silver coin feature the same looping rollercoaster design with differing designs in the center. The obverse has the namesake "Loop the Loop" printed in the center, while the reverse has the profile of Queen Elizabeth, as this coin is backed by the Cook Islands which is a part of the British Commonwealth. CIT’s enhanced smartminting© technology with ultra-high relief on both sides enables to picture the looping in a very realistic way.
