The term Steampunk was coined in 1987 in a speculative fiction novel to describe technological advancements driven by steam rather than electricity. This term has resulted in an artistic and cultural movement. The 2021 3 oz Steampunk Jet Pack Antiqued Silver Coin is based on this.

Design:

The reverse and obverse of this coin feature exquisite detail that makes this coin different from other silver bullion. The reverse depicts a “steampunk” theme of transportation: the jetpack. The scene takes place in a futuristic setting in the mountains, where jetpacks are the mode of transportation. The little details you will find in this location are unique, such as a technological dog with an eyepatch, a man with angel wings, and a man on a unicycle. The jetpack on the man’s back is displayed in golden color with the year “2021” inscribed on it. The front of the steam train is also depicted in gold color.

The obverse features a scene built with multiple gears. The coin's title, “Steampunk,” is found on the bottom half of the coin. The Queen’s effigy is also depicted on this side of the coin. The words “Elizabeth II,” “Cook Islands,” and “20 Dollars” are all inscribed around the Queen.
